Catalogue Sponsorship for the 6th John Ruskin Prize
We're a creative bunch here at Imperial, with many of us interested in photography, music, and painting. So when we learned that The John Ruskin Prize was returning for its sixth edition, we jumped at the chance to support the exhibition.
The John Ruskin Prize is a multidisciplinary art prize open to all artists, designers, and makers of all nationalities and disciplines, aged 18 and over. With the values of the radical 19th-century polymath John Ruskin at its core, The Ruskin Prize has a growing reputation for supporting and promoting artists. This year’s show, held in February at Trinity Buoy Wharf, London, attracted entries from across the globe, with creatives responding to the theme, ‘Seeing the Unseen, Hearing the Unspoken.’
There was a distinguished panel of judges from the worlds of art, media, and craft, including Narinder Sagoo MBE, Cornelia Parker CBE RA, Bob and Roberta Smith RA, Dr. Rachel Dickinson, Gary Hill, and Julian Stair OBE.
With 78 pieces from 68 makers, designers, and artists on display, Imperial Polythene sponsored the exhibition catalogue, which sold out well before the show had even finished its run.
Team member Elizabeth, who visited the private view, had this to say: “I had a wonderful time at the show, and it was amazing to see such varied pieces of work from the worlds of textiles, glass, film, and more. We are so proud to have sponsored the catalogues, which looked great. I even had a chance to work the bar and meet lots of artists. We can’t wait for the next show.”
Also at the private view, visual literacy charity The Big Draw announced the five winners of The John Ruskin Prize:
Joint 1st Prize (£2500): Will you Hear me? – Curtis Holder and Lucky Number 7/Confetti – William Bacon
