Salvation Army
As part of our ongoing 30 for 30 campaign where we celebrate 30 years of business by giving back to our community in 30 impactful ways, we are proud to support The Salvation Army with a donation of £25. This contribution, though modest, has the potential to bring warmth, companionship, and a sense of community to those who need it most.
For many older people, loneliness is a harsh reality, especially in today's fast-paced world. With this donation, The Salvation Army can provide a weekly lunch club for 10 older individuals, offering them not just a meal but the opportunity to enjoy the company and friendship of others. At a Salvation Army community centre, these lunch clubs are more than just a meal. They are a place where people can share stories, laugh, and connect with others who may also be feeling isolated. It’s a simple yet powerful way to brighten someone’s day and remind them that they are not alone.
The Salvation Army has been at the forefront of supporting vulnerable individuals and communities for over 150 years. Their work spans across various areas, including providing shelter for the homeless, offering food to those in need, and creating spaces for community and connection. By focusing on the holistic well-being of individuals, The Salvation Army continues to make a significant difference in the lives of countless people.
If you’re inspired by the work of The Salvation Army and would like to contribute, there are several ways to get involved:
- Donate: Financial contributions, no matter how small, can make a big difference. You can donate directly through The Salvation Army’s website.
- Volunteer: If you have time to give, consider volunteering at a local Salvation Army centre. Whether it's serving meals, organising events, or simply spending time with those who need it, your presence can have a meaningful impact.
- Spread the Word: Raise awareness about the issues of loneliness and isolation among older people by sharing information about The Salvation Army’s initiatives with your friends, family, and social networks.
Our donation to The Salvation Army is just one of the many ways we are giving back as part of our 30 for 30 campaign. We believe that small acts of kindness, when multiplied, can create a wave of positive change. For more information on The Salvation Army and how you can help, visit https://www.salvationarmy.org.uk
