Donations for Slough Homeless Our Concern
On Wednesday, April 10th, Imperial Polythene resumed its support for local society and community issues as part of our ’30 for 30’ campaign by visiting 'Slough Homeless Our Concern' on Ragstone Road in Slough. Scott and Leanne, two of our staff members, visited the centre and met with Robert, a pastoral coach who has worked at SHOC for over 20 years.
Robert explained the centre's history and the amazing work they undertake in the local community. This includes assistance in obtaining housing services, serving breakfast and lunch every day, as well as hot and cold drinks, as well as supplying clothes, laundry, and shower facilities six days a week.
Scott and Leanne delivered a donation of food and clothing before joining an outstanding team of volunteers to cook pasta bolognaise for over 50 homeless persons. Both of our team members commented on how eye-opening this experience was and how hard the staff and volunteers work to help those in need, and we are glad to be able to assist such a valuable charity.
